Long day or overnight, not an afternoon

Permits, fees and access
Dollywood uses date-based dynamic pricing, so the advertised starting price is a floor on the cheapest dates rather than what you will pay on a Saturday in October. Harvest Festival from mid-September and Smoky Mountain Christmas from early November are the most expensive and most crowded weekends of the year.

One thing to know first
Two things closing that older guides still list: The Track closes to the public on November 1, 2026 after more than forty years, and the Hard Rock Cafe closed in August 2026. Also, NightFlight Expedition is the flagship 2026 opening, which means it will carry the longest line in the park all season. Plan around it or skip it.
Access rules, fees and closures verified August 15, 2026 against the agency that manages this place. They change, sometimes without notice. Check before you drive.
I keep this list because it is genuinely how people spend weekends here, and because almost every guide to it is out of date. If you are weighing a move to Middle Tennessee and want to know which part of it puts you closest to the things you actually like, ask me. No pitch.
