Bowling Green is the only place on earth where Corvettes are built, and the National Corvette Museum sits directly across the highway from the GM assembly plant. It is an easy hour up I-65 and it works for people who do not care about cars.

Permits, fees and access
Last tickets at 4:30pm. Plant tours of the GM Bowling Green Assembly Plant are booked separately from museum admission. Closed New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.
One thing to know first
The plant tour is the best part and it books separately and independently of the museum. If you want to watch a Corvette being built, sort that first.
Access rules, fees and closures verified August 15, 2026 against the agency that manages this place. They change, sometimes without notice. Check before you drive.
I keep this list because it is genuinely how people spend weekends here, and because almost every guide to it is out of date. If you are weighing a move to Middle Tennessee and want to know which part of it puts you closest to the things you actually like, ask me. No pitch.
