Leiper’s Fork

33 miles from downtown Nashville · about 45 minutes

Williamson County, TN, on the Natchez Trace corridor

Leiper’s Fork is an unincorporated village of galleries, a general store and a music scene disproportionate to its size, sitting just off the Natchez Trace southwest of Franklin. A lot of people who write songs for a living live around it.

Permits, fees and access

Free to visit. Distillery tours and tastings are bookable separately. One 2026 note: the scenic route in from Nashville runs along the Natchez Trace, and the Double Arch Bridge closure with its seven and a half mile detour runs into spring 2027.

One thing to know first

Parking on the main street is limited and the village is genuinely small. Weekend afternoons are the busiest time by a wide margin.

Access rules, fees and closures verified August 15, 2026 against the agency that manages this place. They change, sometimes without notice. Check before you drive.

The neighborhoods closest to it

If this is the kind of Saturday you want a short drive from your front door, these are the parts of Middle Tennessee that put you nearest to it.

I keep this list because it is genuinely how people spend weekends here, and because almost every guide to it is out of date. If you are weighing a move to Middle Tennessee and want to know which part of it puts you closest to the things you actually like, ask me. No pitch.
